Our “New Normal”: Health and Safety at From Scratch – A Mountain Kitchen
Our ongoing commitment to safety and wellbeing. We continue to closely monitor industry-leading health and safety recommendations as we are doing what we can to ensure the safety of our teams, our community and you.
As we make our way through this phase of reopening the economy, From Scratch continues to be committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of you, our loyal and fabulous clientele, and our returning staff. So that we’re all on the same page, we’d like to keep you informed as to what you can expect when you visit. We are eager to resume in-house and patio seating to serve you for the season, but, of course, there are some limitations.
The following are the steps we are taking in the weeks ahead:
Guest arrival health and safety protocol
Currently, we are only operating at 50% capacity for in-house and patio seating. Reservations are not being taken at this time. Take out is available during posted operational hours.
- The maximum number of guests to be seated in one party is 6.
- Tables in the bistro and patio have been spaced a minimum of 2 meters apart in all directions.
- Bar stools have been appropriately spaced in the bar seating area.
- As required by government regulation, when dining in with us, your name and phone numbers are kept on file for 30 days in case of infection in our business.
Hygiene and cleaning standards
Our entire restaurant is thoroughly sanitized, deep cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis.
- Guest bathrooms and other ‘high touch’ areas are monitored and sanitized every 30 minutes.
- All tables and chairs are wiped down between use with high-grade government-approved disinfectant.
- Our staff have the option to wear gloves and protective face masks during service.
- Approved hand sanitizer stations are available at the front door and throughout the market bistro for guests to use.
Prevention and physical distancing measures
For everyone’s health and safety, our staff are committed to daily health declarations indicating they are symptom-free.
- A plexiglass divider has been installed to protect staff and guests at the front counter.
- Floor markers have been applied to assist in the flow of foot traffic and ensure appropriate physical distancing.
- Operating procedures have been revised to fully comply with directives issued by WorkSafe BC and the BC Provincial Health Office.
